The Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport has two runways for public use and one assault strip used only by the U.S. Military

RECENT RENOVATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Resurfaced taxiways with edge lights and centerline markings
  • The entire airfield electrical distribution system was replaced with new components
  • The new electrical vault is designed to accommodate easy expansion, including future Category II lighting systems

 

YNG Fixed Base Operators/Service Providers

A full-service fixed base operator is on site at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport. The services provided include aircraft refueling, aircraft maintenance and repair, and ground handling for airlines and air cargo.

Air Force Reserve Base

The Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport is proud to be the home of Youngstown Air Reserve Station, the 910th Airlift Wing. Their responsibility is to provide a current, qualified mission-ready force by providing unrivaled tactical airlift, aerial spray, and agile combat support. This station has twelve Lockheed C-130 H aircraft on base. There are a number of other tenant units including:

  • Navy/Marine Reserve Center
  • 304th Civil Air Patrol Squadron
  • Defense Contract Administration Service
  • Army Corps of Engineers

The total base employment including tenant personnel varies between 1,500-2,000 employees. The Youngstown Air Reserve Station resides on the property of the Western Reserve Port Authority. The WRPA maintains the runways and the airport perimeters are patrolled by security forces at the Youngstown Air Reserve Base.

Airforce Rescue & Firefighting

The Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport values the highest standards of safety. Our airport has on-site, 24-hour daily aircraft rescue and firefighting coverage. This service is provided full time under a cooperative agreement with the Air Force Reserve Base. Service is available to all aircrafts operating at the airport.

The aircraft rescue and firefighting coverage is capable of accommodating up to any Index D aircraft on a per-use basis or scheduled operations. Index E coverage can be provided for any scheduled service but will require an arrangement with the Western Reserve Port Authority prior to initiating scheduled service.
